We collect, process, and use your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and in compliance with the relevant data protection laws. Personal information is information that can be used to determine your identity.
When you simply visit our website, that is, if you do not contact us or send us a job application, we only collect the personal information that your browser transmits to our server. If you would like to view our website, we collect the following information, which is technically necessary to display our website to you and to ensure the stability and security of the site:

We use external service providers (data processors). Separate data processing agreements have been concluded with our service providers to ensure that your personal information is protected. We work together with the following service providers:

V. LEGAL BASIS OF THE COLLECTION, PROCESSING, AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The legal basis for processing your personal information is our legitimate interest. Our legitimate interest is maintaining the functionality of our website and of course responding to your queries in this context.

Web tracking/web analytics

This website uses cookie consent technology from Usercentrics to obtain your consent to store certain cookies on your terminal device and to document this in accordance with data privacy law.

The provider of this technology is Usercentrics GmbH, Rosental 4, 80331 Munich, website: www.usercentrics.com/de (hereinafter “Usercentrics”).

When you access our website, the following personal information is transferred to Usercentrics:

  • Your granting of consent and your revocation of consent in all relevant instances

  • Your IP address  

  • Information about your browser

  • Information about your terminal device

  • Time of your visit to the website

Furthermore, Usercentrics stores a cookie in your browser in order to associate you with the consent you have granted or revoked. The information collected in this way is stored until you request that we delete it, you delete the Usercentrics cookie yourself, or the purpose for storing the information no longer applies.

Modify your consent

Matomo 

We use the web analysis tool “Matomo” to optimize our website. We do not use Matomo with tracking cookies. In order to ensure a process that is particularly data privacy-friendly, we have deactivated the use of tracking cookies that is provided for in the basic Matomo configuration.

The following data is stored:

  • 1 byte of the IP address of the system from which the user accesses the site

  • Time and duration of the visit

  • Pages and files accessed during the visit

  • Website from which the user reached the site (referrer)

  • Search terms via which the user reached the website, along with search terms entered when using internal search  

  • Accessing of external websites by following links on our site

  • System information of the user (operating system, browser, browser language setting, device type, screen resolution)

Matomo runs exclusively on servers in Europe. The information collected as a result of a website visit is only stored in Europe. The IP addresses are immediately anonymized by Matomo, thereby preventing visitors from being identified. The anonymous statistical data is stored separately from any personal information you may have provided on the website and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about a specific person.

VI. DELETION OF DATA

Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required in order to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected (after the end of your visit to our website or upon completion of the processing of your request via email/postal mail/telephone) and the deletion is not contrary to any statutory retention obligations.

VII. APPLICATION

Data collected and the purpose of its processing

When you apply for a job, we process data provided by you that we need as part of the application process. This may include contact details, all data related to the application (such as your CV, certificates, qualifications, answers to questions, etc.) and, if applicable, your bank details (for travel expense reimbursement).

Your data will of course be treated confidentially. We do not transmit such data to third parties. If service providers are necessary, we use providers that are strictly bound by our instructions, to support us in the areas of IT or the archiving and destruction of documents, and with whom separate contracts for data processing are concluded in order to ensure safe and legally compliant handling of your data.

Deletion of data

If no legal retention obligations exist, the data will be deleted as soon as storage of the data is no longer necessary. If an applicant is not hired, data deletion will usually take place no later than six months after completion of the application process. In certain instances, individual data items may be retained for a longer period of time (such as for travel expense reports). The duration of storage is then determined by the retention periods under tax law. Moreover, if your application is generally very interesting, but we nevertheless have no specific job to offer you at the point in time at which you submit your application, we will contact you via email to ask for your consent to include you in our applicant pool.

VIII. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • The right to access your personal information

  • The right to amend or delete your personal information

  • The right to restrict processing of your personal information

  • The right to object to processing of your personal information

  • The right to portability of your personal information

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal information.

IX. SECURITY

We have taken various technical and organizational measures to ensure that the data we collect and process is protected against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, and tampering. The legal requirements for data privacy and protection are of course complied with. However, we would like to point out that no data transmission over the Internet can be absolutely secure. This means we cannot guarantee complete protection of the data and information you transmit via our website.
We reserve the right to amend or adapt this Privacy Policy. We therefore ask you to occasionally review this Privacy Policy in order to ensure that you are informed about the current version each time you access the website.
